Welcome to Flowers By Tia

A little space for flowers, floristry, inspiration and everything in between.

Hello and welcome to the very first blog post on Flowers By Tia!

I’m Katria, the creative and florist behind Flowers By Tia, a North West London-based floral studio specialising in fresh and dried flowers, hand-tied bouquets, intimate weddings, celebrations and events.

You may have already seen my About page, but if not, I thought I’d start here by sharing a little about how Flowers By Tia came about.

In 2022, I managed the social media accounts for two businesses within an online floristry company. I would often work closely with the head florist to create content and, whilst I was filming, I was slowly being introduced to the world of floristry through watching her work. I spent a lot of time surrounded by beautiful bouquets - photographing them, writing about them and seeing how they came together, and my interest in flowers began to grow and grow.

Naturally, I had always loved flowers (who doesn’t?), but it was during this time that my interest really started to develop. I found myself becoming more curious about floral design, the flowers being used and the creative process behind each arrangement. Then one day, whilst browsing social media, I came across a floristry course and decided to give it a go. I completely fell in love with it.

Although life took me in a different direction for a while, I never really stopped thinking about flowers. That feeling kept coming back, and eventually I decided to follow it and create Flowers By Tia.

What I love most about flowers is the way they can bring people together. They have a way of marking special occasions, creating memories and making even the simplest moments feel a little more special.

I also love the creativity of working with flowers, but perhaps even more so, I love the fact that they never quite do exactly what you expect. I’m drawn to flowers that feel a little wild and unexpected; overgrown gardens, wildflower meadows, twisting stems and foliage reaching in different directions. I love creating floral arrangements that feel as though they have simply grown into place, rather than being perfectly arranged into it.

That natural, slightly untamed feeling is at the heart of Flowers By Tia, and it's something I hope to bring into everything I create, from hand-tied bouquets and dried flowers to wedding flowers and intimate event styling.

So, that's where it all began.

I'll be using this journal to share more of the world of Flowers By Tia - from the flowers I'm currently loving and projects I'm working on, to wedding and event inspiration, seasonal flowers, floristry tips and little glimpses behind the scenes.

If you're planning a wedding or celebration, looking for floral inspiration in London, or simply love flowers as much as I do, I hope you'll enjoy following along.

Katria xoxo
